The new structure, direction and mission define the future benefits in the life of a child with unique learning needs through our schools and churches.

New Structure

MEO is now structured as a funding agency to enable Evansville Catholic Diocesan Schools to provide professional development experiences for their teachers and to provide additional special education programming for all their students with unique learning needs.
More students can stay in their own home parish school.

New Direction

MEO strives to provide on-site funding to all of the 28 Evansville Catholic Diocesan Schools for special education initiatives to better serve an increasing diverse population of students.
More students can attend school Mass in their home parish church.

New Mission

Marian Educational Outreach is a ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Evansville committed to providing opportunities for students with unique learning needs to reach their highest potential while remaining in the Catholic school system.

A Message from the Director

Marian Educational Outreach is “on the move”. The program restructuring is a tremendous success.
The Jack and Betty Charlier endowment has made it possible for MEO to provide financial support to Holy Spirit so that the students who were formerly in the MEO program at St. Theresa are thriving academically.
Thanks to the Welborn Baptist Foundation grant, the dream of providing Differentiated Instruction to all of the teachers in the Catholic Diocesan schools is becoming a reality. Approximately 65 teachers from Holy Spirit, Holy Redeemer and Corpus Christi are currently involved in comprehensive training that will help them to more effectively serve all students regardless of their abilities. MEO has applied to WBF for Phase Two which, if grant is awarded, will involve approximately 120 additional teachers!
With funding assistance from Catholic Education Foundation and Welborn Baptist Foundation, MEO continues to provide financial support to the Mater Dei and Memorial Resource Programs.
In September 2007, MEO will launch its first official Annual Fund. Recruiting volunteers for this major undertaking was exciting and heartwarming. Because we are touching more lives, the number of people committed to our new structure is ever increasing.
MEO is moving forward and reaching out to more and more students. We thank you for helping us to make our vision a reality and our dreams come true!
